At the October Capital Area Archives annual dinner, James Davies, adjunct librarian at the Dwight Marvin Library, received the 2017 Sister Elaine Wheeler Award for Distinguished Services in Archives.
Davies was honored for his role as Local History Room librarian at the Albany Public Library, along with collaborator Anthony Opalka, Albany City historian. A full description of the award is available online.
In addition to providing reference services on Thursday mornings in the Writing and Research Center, Davies is also completing a project to review the Dwight Marvin Library’s special collections to identify overlap with local archival collections.
